Smart Shipping: How AI and IoT Are Revolutionizing Logistics2

Objavljeno: 27 April 2026

The new infrastructure investment increases the terminal's operational capacity, establishing a stronger foundation for distributing renewable fuels across the CEE region.

In a decisive move to strengthen its vertically integrated logistics network, Rubikon Shipping Company has successfully concluded the second phase of expansion at the Ploiesti Energy Terminal. This operational upgrade directly supports the company's transition from a standard carrier to a comprehensive energy operator.

The newly commissioned infrastructure includes an additional 4,000 cubic meters of dedicated storage capacity, specifically engineered to handle advanced biofuels and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This development ensures that Rubikon remains compliant with upcoming European environmental mandates while offering enhanced flexibility to core refinery partners.

The Danube remains the lifeblood of European liquid cargo transport. However, the variables governing its reliability are shifting. As we look toward the 2026 shipping season, two factors dominate the strategic conversation: the increasing volatility of water levels and the urgent regulatory push for decarbonization.

At Rubikon SC, we have spent the last decade optimizing our fleet not just for capacity, but for adaptability. The days of relying on static historical data for draft planning are over. Today, dynamic logistics requires real-time hydrological modeling and a vessel design that can maintain efficiency even in low-water conditions.
